I rented the whole YHA complex in Littlehampton. Self-catering! The kids (13 12-16 year old boys) took turns cooking dinner - actually all of it edible! I'm exhausted. My mornings started with preparing 13 cooked breakfasts (including 2 halal) - I didn't want them to have any carbs to start the day. Went pretty well apart from the 30 seconds I left the kitchen to return to find 3 boys stood around the grill - 'Sir, it's on fire.' (they didn't think to do anything as the flames licked higher) - I stuck a wet towel on it. Rehearsed Tchaikovsky's Legend with our baritone (Tchaik's own arrangement), Mission Impossible, Land of Hope and Glory, Pirates of the Caribbean, all that kinda thing. As well as rehearsing we managed a trip to a Roman Palace, an open museum, walks on the beach and badminton and table tennis - guess who did all the minibus driving! I think it's the hardest I've ever worked (apart from maybe the upholstery factory).

Wow. Littlehampton. Not far from one of my favourite cathedral/drug dealing cities: Chichester. Looks like you had fun, though the boys must have been a real handful.
But Land of Hope & Glory between Mission Impossible and Pirates? Where's the respect for my former Queen? ;D

We drove past Chichester a couple of times, in fact we had a tour, oboe concert and evensong booked but I canceled at the last moment - scheduled to spend 6 hours there, I couldn't promise we'd have left it as we found it!
