I think for me, one reasons are:
I like the earlier music
There are already a zillion pianists out there.
Its not so 'muddy' sounding.
Physically less demanding (at least in terms of raw strength)

I don't think I can get on with all that quill shaping. You know Bach always did his own? I could have bought a beaut last year but I'm all out of room what with two pianos (one square), a clavichord and a DP (yuck) in one flat.

Well, with delron plectums, I don't find myself having to replace them very often. Maybe on average 1 per month. At most 2. And you get fast where you can do one in about 10 mins.

I think it's more about the shaping to your personal sound.
