Look at that superb relaxed right deltoid! And the bow hold! Pure ease. Pianists take note.

Indeed! And Richter accompanying! A meeting of stars without doubt.

Is that Richter? I never paid any attention, my eyes were glued to that right arm!

Is that Richter? I never paid any attention, my eyes were glued to that right arm! I do believe it is. I couldn't take my eye off the ease with which either of them play.

I've always enjoyed this video of a much younger Heifetz:

I think it shows later in life he was relaxing his right arm more - the hand has the same grace.

Indeed! And Richter accompanying! A meeting of stars without doubt. That's definitely not Richter, probably his usual accompanist Chotzinoff. The only big time pianists Heifetz played with, to the best of my memory were Kapell (they were supposed to record many of the big violin sonatas together, but unfortunately only managed the Brahms D minor) and of course Rubinstein (as part of the "million dollar trio"). Also found an interesting program where he played with of all people, Horowitz in a private house concert in nyc--that must have been something to behold. edit: just remembered he also recorded the Kreutzer with Moiseiwitsch.

Wow, they must be spitting images of each other... Thanks for the info as usual Koji! Would love to have been a fly on the wall for that last one! ;D
