It's so hot and muggy that I've lost most of my desire to practice.

Same for me too. And I'm upset at the huge elephant-ear plant beside the front door for choosing now to die.

Night before I couldn't sleep cause of the heat so last night left the window open. 3am I'm woken by my choking on acrid burning rubber! Sheesh. Practice? Don't think so.

Now that it's 4am, will I ever get any sleep? Pretty soon the birds are going to start chirping.

And now the planes are starting their steady approach one by one to the airport. Drowns out the birds at least.

While in my part of sunny Australia it's hovering around the 0 degreesC mark most mornings, and lucky if we make double figures during the day.

I guess if you have to have winter, an Australian one is better than most. But I'm still over it.

I'm off to Nova Scotia for 5 weeks hols. I hear it's hot at the moment. What I like most is the quality of the light there - similar to Cornwall (but much further south).

Ah, Cornwall- I'm already getting nostalgic for the old country. I hiked once from Cape Cornwall to Land's End- got a major sunburn. Then there's St. Michael's Mount, St. Ives where the organist told me at a particularly high Anglo-Catholic church: 'the Catholics are more reformed than we are!'. And of course Truro Cathedral. All of it missed. But currently 22C in Seattle, little humidity. I'm liking this. Let us know about your holiday in Nova Scotia!
